Bush Regeneration and Weed Control
Justin’s association with Active began 10 years ago. His life-long interest in horticulture took hold when he started growing Bonsai at age 14. Justin completed a Certificate 4 in Horticulture and whilst working at a nursery for 5 years, developing his capabilities in plant identification and knowledge of plant communities. His expertise in weed control and management evolved through extensive work in bush regeneration and fuel load reduction work. Over 20 years, Justin has worked on many bushland sites around greater Sydney. These sites often needed extensive remediation and covered areas up to 15 Hectares.
Justin’s work has assisted clients in satisfying environmental requirements relating to revegetation, bush regeneration and fuel reduction works to maintain Asset Protection Zones. These clients have included the Metropolitan Local Aboriginal Land Council, the Duffys Forest Residents Association, the Bayview Woods Estate, landowners and developers. Justin has planted an average of 5,000 to 10,000 native plants per year for the last 20 years. He continues his work with the volunteers at Waratah (Skippy) Park and remains devoted to restoring Australia’s environment.
